Our Story
Our story starts in Japan, where our family began teaching English in the early 1980s. Over the years, we learned important lessons about language learning through experience and mentorship. We found that with practice, fun, and the right resources, anyone can achieve basic English proficiency. ESL Launch LLC was established in 2025 to help educators and students. The tools we created over the years have been revised to meet the needs of today’s teachers and students.
Why the ESL Launch Curriculum is Unique
You’ll quickly discover that this is not like other English teaching curriculums. The ESL Launch curriculum is based on the natural learning process: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. While some programs teach students about English, we engage our students with an immersive style where they get a massive amount of listening and speaking practice. Some curriculums focus on grammatical accuracy early in the process, we focus on action. We want students to practice and create without getting stuck worrying about whether they are grammatically correct. Think about how sports, music, and dance are taught. All of them have aspects that you can’t just learn about, instead the students must do something related to what they learn. We focus on helping students engage in the language learning process and have a great time while they do it. About the Founder
Kim was born and raised in Japan. Growing up cross-culturally gave her a deep understanding of what it feels like to be a foreigner navigating language and belonging. In 2005, her father founded KidsWow EnglishPro and Kim, along with her siblings, helped build the curriculum and company from scratch. The ESL Launch curriculum is the evolution of that legacy: a modern, accessible version of the KidsWow program that helped hundreds of students build confidence in their language learning journey.
Passionate about communication, Kim recognizes that when someone begins to unlocks their potential in the English language, they open doors to new opportunities, connections, and resources. She believes that with the right tools, support, and commitment anyone can learn basic English.
As an entrepreneur, Kim was looking for ways to fill a need with the tools and resources her family had spent decades creating. ESL Launch LLC is her second business and is focused on empowering educators who are helping students become more confident English learners. Her first business equips families and business owners to have and implement great financial strategies. With any business endeavor, the thing that excites Kim the most is the potential to serve people and help them have steps forward to a better future.
